So then I got to it with Gesso and covered it all up with two layers of it. You can still see some of the background colours poking through.. Next I gently brushed over it with my favorite colour turquoise paint. I stamped the words including my word for the year explore and popped them along the string. I used a bit of inka gold here and there to highlight a few things like the string and the birdcage and bird.. This was so much fun to do and it really emptied that container... Have you got a container that is overflowing like me?
Just for fun I am going to link this up at

I really think this has wow factor, it's cool to see how you got here, love the white edges too, looks almost vintage!
ReplyDeleteI love really love this! Actually I love both the before and after and you've defiitely inspired me to have a go next time I drop a container on the floor... maybe I won't wait to drop it :)
ReplyDeleteWow! That's crazy fun. I used to have a container like that (okay, I confess I had several like that) but one day I dumped them into a bag and gave them to someone else. Oh! I know that sounds like a cop out but she had just discovered the joys of paper arts and was quite thrilled with my bit s and piece. She definitely did them more justice than I ever would have.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea! It turned out great! So cool to see the true texture. The blue paint really highlights it beautifully! Thank you so much for joining us at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Hugs, Sandra
