Aussie notecard swap March

Aussie notecard swap time and the March theme was Steampunk. So gathered all my steampunk appropriate bits and pieces and the Tim Holtz district warehouse stamps..   Distressed edges lots of walnut stain and started scrunching paper soaked with water for the first layer. I had already stamped a world map on it, so it bled and went all just how I wanted it too, streaky and old looking.. Stamped some card stock with a different map stamp and then the wonderful steampunk 3 men with the hats went over the top of that in brown ink. Its handy having a hubby with lots of washers, so tied one of those on with some string over a punched out gear.  More stamping, distressing and machine sewing around all of the edges.. Added a gear from the Tim Holtz Ideology collection and a metal key from K & C company. Added some brads and a paper clip so just a bit more metal.
So that was a lot of fun.

As always its everyone's favourite Anything goes.

This weeks card was one I made recently for my son's birthday.  I was really stumped thinking about what I was going to put on his card.  I then just thought about all the things he likes.. Well that lead me to gathering up all these stamps that I had of the things he liked.  Darts, beer, games on the Xbox and then the tyres well that's for the 4 wheel driving.. I just stamped all the related stamps on to a sheet of white cardstock and made my own background paper.  I then stamped the tires going over the top, backing it with the black cardstock and popped that up with dimension pop dots. He liked the card, I find cards for men the hardest to make. All the stamps where free ones I had from stamping magazines.  The Happy Birthday was from Stampin'up.

Challenges 4 Everybody #22 DT

Well 2 weeks has rolled around and its time for a new challenge at Challenges 4 Everybody This week we are sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs.  Have you joined in yet? As always its everyone's favourite Anything goes.

This week I made a card using a stamp set that I brought from the paper crafting expo I went too.. Its from Design Objectives and just knew that it was going to be perfect for those cards that we make for the men in our lives.. It has all the essential male elements gears, pocket watch, globe of the world and even the old fashioned telephone.. I popped the brads on to look a little like nails and layered with lots of chocolate chip paper..

I would like to enter this in the following challenges.
