WOYWW #180

Well I have been very busy but only a little of it has been craft related..
So here is my desk.....

We have been getting our wood in for next year and I have been busy stacking it under our wood shed.  We can only get it till the 30th of November then its off limits as its fire season... They are thinning it out before they do a burn off..  I stacked all this wheelbarrow by wheelbarrow all by myself...
Here is the wood....

The vegetable garden is growing great, only trouble we are having is getting the carrots to germinate, they are being stubborn.. This is the Lettuce snow peas and onions..
So here is the vegetable garden....

This is the photo from just a few weeks ago they have really grown when you see it like this...

So I am off to take a peek at other desks and see what everyone is up to on this 180th WOYWW

Have a great day
Sandy :)

  7. Wow, how many cords is that? We used to get 7 cords in for ech winter. That heated a 2 story house nice and comfy all winter but we had a furnace set for if the heat fell below a certain temperature. Our winer were long as I lived in the Kootenay's then. We had to go into the forrest and could tqake the trees that had fallen. It was a lot of hiking in, chopping it up hauling it out...uggggh...I don't miss it.
I hope you get to chance to craft soon.

  8. Hi Sandy thanks for popping by and for watching my video. You must be exhausted after stacking all that wood - it looks fab by the way! You reminded me of cute santas I made one year using logs. They stand by my fireplace each Christmas. Put your feet up! your deserve it. Happy WOYWW to you from Helen 30

  10. I love it when we see people's "non-desk" activities once in a while, Sandy! Your veges are looking extremely healthy, and as for the wood, well, that is a work of art in itself! Beautiful texture, all the log ends like that. You must have worked so hard with that lot, and so neatly stacked too. It reminds me of what my Dad always says, "He who chops his own firewood warms himself twice" lol lol!! That wonderful stash of wood should keep you going all winter, I should think.

Thanks for your great comment on my blog, and I'm so glad you like my art journal and zentangles. I've just discovered this combining of two patterns in one, and it's awesome!

  18. You are one tough woman, that is one heap of wood. My dad is also out and about getting wood for winter, it seems and sounds really funny doens't it? I mean we are going into summer and we are thinking about winter and the wood heap LOL Do you have blisters on your hands? Oh make sure you have enough wood, wouldnt want you to run out lol

Vegi patch looking brilliant, nothing like fresh from the garden. I am lucky my dad grows all of my vegis as I dont have the time now to tend to a garden.

As for the Blue Wrens I am not surprised that you have them in your garden, I am really not that far from you work wise atm just a short trip down the road.

Have a great week and happy crafting.

  19. Oh now that is an impressive sight Sandy!
I've just shown my hubby who has a wood fettish and adores seeing wood piled neatly like this. Maybe that sounds a little weird and geeky but we used to have open fires in our house in Scotland years ago and he used to chop 5 ton piles of wood for the winter, so he knows about these things. He's positively drooling.
It'll dry out beautifully during the summer months too.
I bet your muscles were talking to you after all that work!
    Well done you ;D

Veggies look great too...I need to get going on my plants ~ just another job on my list.
Thanks for visiting my desk earlier.

Have a great relaxing weekend...you deserve it!

  20. Hullo there Sandy, Well think your pile of wood has blown us all away and rightly so - quite amazing cant believe you can reach that high.. I cannot that is for sure and done so very neatly - would be truly horrid if it collapsed on you.. happy gathering for less than two weeks now! and hope and pray those stubborn carrots will germinate.. isn't it too lat for them now?
Thanks so much for popping over and thanks for sharing ~ happy WOYWW! Shaz in Oz. x #10

  22. I'm REALLY late getting round to people this week - family life getting in the way!

So, I figured I'd better pop in and at least say thanks for stopping by!

(WOW that's a lot of wood!)

  23. That is one serious stack of wood! It would take me forever to make a stockpile of wood that big...now if they turned that wood into paper, and colored it up a bit, threw on some patterns and put in a Hobby Lobby store I would have it home and stacked in two shakes of a lambs tail! :) Thanks for visiting me already and leaving a comment...I'm glad the link for the owl granny square worked and now that I've seen your worktop I can tell you love love love the owls. ;) Would you please post a picture of one when you get it done? I would like to see how it looks...and to know a *real* person can do it...although I have tried, but I'm not very up on the crocheting lingo so when they use the shorthand in patterns I get lost! And I don't think I know how to count either! Go figure...I only have a Bachelors degree! lol Deeyll #65
