Man card

My son asked for a card for his mate for his birthday, so he can put some money in it.   He was looking through all my cards and said "Mum, you have not got one man card in your stash of cards, men are 50% of the population you know." ( I think I will have to remedy that inequity in my stash).  He was so fussy with his choices too, no ribbon, had to be black, no patterns. I asked if I could add some brads, had to show him.  "Yea they look ok, kind of look like nails." 


So here is the man card as requested for his friend...



I embossed the black background with the Sizzix yummy stripe texture plate. Paper is Kaisercraft, the cog is a punch from Stampin'up.  Roughed up the edges and inked with Tim Holtz old paper ink.  Inked with black around the edges of the Happy Birthday. 
I am going to enter this card into the following challenges
Here come the boys Metal or embossing
Make it Monday Anything goes

    It is a fab man card Sandy! I am sure your son's friend will find it suitably masculine. Gonna have to go investigate this cog punch now. I have never seen it before, but it is a great idea!!

    This is what happens when we get wrapped up in our own creations, we forget about the men and what they need. I think your sons lack of choices has given you the ability to create a really fantastic card. I do hope the boy (man) likes it.
