WOYWW 221
I have been experimenting again this time I drew and painted my first person on one of my Gelli print backgrounds. I used my new paper holders that I showed last week, but not the way I thought I was going to use them. I have been getting all those 12 x 12 stencils on sale at the craft store and they where getting quite tangled. I was getting a bit frustrated with putting them back in there packets. So my solution was to use the paper rack for stencils and the finished prints.. The other one I am going to keep for when I am using the Gelli plate so I have somewhere to dry the finished prints. I do have my trolley for my paper and that works quite well for me.. I really don't have a lot of patterned paper and well now I can paint my own backgrounds any colour.. My daughter has been interested in doing one of those smash books so we both brought the nostalgia one and she brought a pink one as well. Such lovely backgrounds in it something we can do together. I will use it when I go away in a few weeks to pop some things in.
Julia from WOYWW gets us all together every Wednesday to have a look at desks from all over the world.. Grab a cuppa, I have mine here, and take a browse.. Thanks for taking the time to comment and enjoy the blog hopping around all the desks.
Have a great day
Sandy :)

WOW Sandy, what a fabulous drawing, and a fabulous job of using your Gelli plates, think I want one of them now, loving your desk hun, Happy WOYWW, Avril#52
ReplyDeleteNow that is a clever idea for storing your stencils. Mine are in a folder but then I forget to use them! Have a lovely week.

ReplyDeleteWell, what a great ending to your gelli plate background - love the face.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea too as to how to store your stencils. I know how tangled they can get but as I have only one of the large ones not a problem for me, Do you layer paper between them if ore than one on a shelf?
Thanks for your earlier visit - Hugs, Neet 25 xx
great painting and a fun, textured background - I really like that!!
ReplyDeletehappy WOYWW and have a great week :)

What a great piece! The background you did really is lovely, and your painting is lovely. That is a great quote you used as well. I really have to take a page from your organization tip, as currently my stencils are a mess! I find it hard to slip them in their sleaves. I plan to do something similar to yours and note the name on them with a Sharpie. Too cumbersome the way I have them! Thanks for the visit and the inspiration today! Winnie#84
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea to keep the stencils in there. They can be a bit of a pain otherwise.
ReplyDeleteThanX for stopping by earlier. Happy WOYWW and I wish you a lovely week.

Great idea for storing those giant stencils. Yes, they do get tangled easily, don't they? Well done on the drawing - the face is great.

What a fantastic background, it looks surreal. Great painting of your lady too. I can't believe they are moving, where are they going? Ok we need to catch up on Friday as I am back in town again and I have those setters for you in my handbag LOL so I wont forget them. You could even come to the stadium if need be later in the day. I so want to play with my gelli, I just haven't had time. I might have to spin into the factory to see what they are upto before work LOL. Talk on Friday.

Love the view out your window, so nice and green. Those gelli plates are really popular these days. I am a big fan of patterned paper so I'll leave all the gelli plate-ing to the rest of you folks. I am only just now learning that stencils can be fun. We'll see how that progresses. You have fun playing!!!
ReplyDeleteLove stencils but haven't got any of the 12 inch ones. Not got a Gelli plate either but I love what can be done with them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting today.

Its great to so something crafty with family isn't it? I love my pink Smash book.
ReplyDeleteYou have a great way to store those pesky stencils. I love your background and that face is fabulous. The saying is good too. I've seen people talk about the Smash books, might have to find one and see if my daughter wants to do one.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.

Love the sentiment on your journal page. The storage is a good idea. Hugs. Pam#36
ReplyDeleteI am loving your fabulous person on your Gelli Print, particulary how you have let the print shine through her clothing. Your uses for your paper racks are all fabulous, this definitely would be a great way to dry your gelli prints, I get in such a mess with spreading mine all around me as I get on a roll.....I hope you have a great week! TY for the visit, and the kind and warm comment. I wish I had discovered art journaling when my kids where all still little. I've incorporated a few things that my 13 yr old Bridget has done. I started an art journal of stuff by my 3 yr old granddaughter, and when she graduates from high school I'll give it to her as a gift. I've been practicing faces, they aren't all that easy. Thank god for erasers. I love your art piece you posted this week. Great quote!! Also…LOVE the stencil storage. Hope you enjoyed your weekend!!! (((HUGS)))
