Retro Sketches #22

This is for the sketch at Retro Sketches it has been sketched by Arielle and is sponsored this week by The Alley Way Stamps. They have such unique stamps, well worth taking a peek.  I so loved the videos too her daughter has the most delightful giggle.
You know when you just see a sketch and just go. I know what to do for that one and then it just all comes together so easy.  I know it doesn't happen very often, but I'm loving that it did today.  I had not done one of these flowers before.  I really like the look of them, so can see them appearing on my cards a bit more often.  They are so easy, just the scallop punch folded in half and then half again.  Do that 4 times and join together.  It gives a simple dimension to the flower.
I showed my daughter the card and she said that's cute mum, so got my most important approval.
So here is my card......

Spinning Santa Owl

Thought I would do another card with the Stampin'up owl, I was inspired by the sketch at Merry Monday  This was such a fun little project I used this tutorial Spinner Card  No pennies here in Australia so I used 2 10c pieces.
So here is my card.....

All the presents are delivered and he's off to the next house.

I just did this on my iphone so its a bit shaky holding my little phone and the spinner.  If the video does not work I also uploaded it to youtube Here  It was a lot of fun to do this card.  Hope you have a go it was so easy to do it.  I used the cardboard for the back of the spinner, it was so much stronger and quite sturdy.
I am also going to enter this card in the following challenges at Jingle Belles Rock they are celebrating Santa on your cards this week.
At the Friday mashup  you have to make a xmas card and decorate the inside.

Have a great day

Moxie Tuesday trigger

I saw this on Moxie Fab World and had an idea straight away as I had been making those little kites for my last card.  So cooking tea I was thinking hmmm have all those little scraps of flower embossing left.  So I stamped my cake onto that and fussy cut it. Next I cut a square out of the middle of the card.  (Hmm will have to get something so I can do that much easier).   Then popped it up in the middle and made my little banners with the kites.  Sometimes you just have to have a go at something a bit different.  I haven't just looked at a picture and got an idea for a card so it was fun.
I found it really hard to photograph think I must have taken 30 pictures and these where the best ones.  Think it is probably the color, and most likely the lousy photographer.
So here  is my card....

Whats on your workdesk Wednesday?

So its Wednesday and its time for all of us to check into Julia's Stamping ground to do our Wednesday blog hop around all the desks.  Have you joined in yet? Or taken a peek?  Warning its highly addictive.
So here is my desk....

I have been a busy little stamper but everything is kind of finished at the moment and really haven't decided what the next thing to do is.  I know I have to finish decorating  2 of the insides of my cards, that's why they are on my desk.  I have everything out all ready to go..

What do you do to the insides of your cards?
1.   Do you leave them blank?
3.   Do you just leave them decorated but no sentiment?
3.   Just a stamped sentiment?
4.   Or are they all decorated with sentiment and ready to send?

Bit of a survey happening hey, but I am interested to find out.  I took a look at my stash and I seem to do 1 and 4.
Happy WOYWW everyone, I'm off to take a peek at some desks.
Have great day

I Spy Sketches #25

Hi all, well today I am doing a sketch for I Spy Sketches  challenge.  Another cute sketch, this one is designed by Elzbieta B.
I was going to draw lines for the kites and tried the design on a scrap of paper with drawn black lines and didn't like it.   I then went to my trusty string, it was a bit tricky to get the string on, but I think it gives a much better look.  To get the string on I first cut it all to 1 length then tied it in a knot.  Then I lined all the string flat on the card and attached it under the kites, cutting it to the length I wanted as I went.  I hope this helps if you give it a try.  All the colors of the kites are the  2011, 2012 in colors from Stampin'up.
So here is my card.........

I am also going to enter this card in the
Stamp It! Cards Love Card Challenge in the  Moxie Fab World

Merry Monday Xmas Tree

I thought it was a wonderful of a great friend of mine, to cut me some xmas trees with her cricut machine, they turned out so cute.  So as you can pick your own sketch at the  Merry Monday challenge this month, I thought this one fit quite well with the tree.  I stamped a few little trees on the white oval behind it to blend it in a bit.  All papers, button and ribbon are Kaisercraft, I think they have some lovely design xmas papers.
So here is my card....

It is my pleasure to welcome a new follower Elaine.  So glad that you have become a follower hope you enjoy your look around my little blog.

Edit...
I was looking at the card after I had finished posting it and went darn.  I had made the little tag to put under the button and forgot to put it on.. LOL oh well.. So thought I would take a quick photo with its tag.  It had to have Merry Christmas on it.  Have any of you ever done this, forgot to put an element on your card..   Probably only me,
oh well.  It has its little tag now.

Less is More Week 76

I am doing this card for the Less is more challenge this week its one layer and you just have to add 3.  So I needed to add to my baby stash so that was what I went for.  One layer is just something that I find really hard.  Think my love of everything ribbon gets in the way of the one layer challenge.
So here is my card.......

I Spy Sketches #24

I really liked the sketch at  I Spy Sketches  this week I hummmed and harrrrrrrd and then turned to my favourite colors for inspiration.  I seem to do that when I'm stuck on a sketch.  So its Razzleberry and Old Olive to the rescue of this sketch for me.  It was good too as I just used scrap pieces to do the circles.  I ran it through the bigshot and embossed the lot with the dot embossing folder.  Then buttons oh yea I had bought the little embosslit  Sweet Buttons that I hadn't used.
So here is my card......

It is my pleasure to welcome a new follower today Victoria.  So hope you enjoy touring around my blog and find something to inspire or maybe join in on one of the many challenges I enter.

Stationery Box

I have been working on this stationery box for a few weeks off and on.  Started it at a fun crafting day with friends, we did the outside box.  It has been a great project to do when I just had a bit of time to do some crafting.  Here is a link to the great tutorial of the Stationery box at splitcoast stampers.  I didn't add a pen holder I always have trouble with stupid pens leaking so just made my note book bigger.
So here is my stationery box.......

Gold Text

Today I had lots of fun with gold embossing powder.  I had not embossed for a while and it was good to get all glittery and sparkly.
So thanks to all the DT team at Less is more for having a challenge this week to use gold embossing on our cards. I think the Stampin'up fresh vintage flower came up so lovely gold embossed and fussy cut.
I had been wanting to join in at the Casual Fridays  challenge to use text on a card.  I have this lovely text stamp that I have from Kaszazz its called reason, season, lifetime.  It has such lovely wording on it.
So here is my card....

Retro sketches Shout out & Xmas card

I was so excited today to find that my Bird cage card
won a shout out badge at Retro sketches isn't it just the cutest blinky.  Thanks so much to the DT for picking my card.
Today I am doing another of my xmas cards and at the Merry Monday challenge they are having a month long challenge.  You can pick any sketch that they have for the 4 weeks in the month of July.  So I picked sketch #6 today and chose some of the bright funky xmas paper stock that I brought from Kaisercraft. Its a 6x6 paper pack called Christmas Carnival Collection.  I thought it was great as it is always summer here at xmas time. Its nice to have more of a beach color on some of my xmas cards.  I am using one of there embroidered badges matches so well with this paper.

So this is no 4 of my 25 cards for xmas so 21 to go....

I am also entering this card in The squirrel and the fox challenge #21 who this week are having xmas in July.

Have a great day
Sandy :)
