WOYWW #218

Well more playing with watercolours I invested in a really good brush just one of them but it does make a difference. I also brought some different watercolour paints I could not find the ones that I see other people using on youtube here in Australia. I found this one that is an Australian brand one and it is much brighter and juicier than the cheap children's one I was using. The Childrens ones where great to find out if this was something I wanted to do before out laying money on more supplies. It goes on thicker on the brush and the colour does not fade away when it dries.   I really like the water colouring  it is so relaxing to just use all the bright colours and paint away. Still have to do a lot to these pages but kind of have most of the main part done.. Its a great way to learn the brush strokes and how much paint to put on the brush, that will come with practice.. Tracy from Mixed Media Monday has been showing all her watercolouring and so wanted to give it a go as well, has me hooked now.

So many responses from my cat playing with the ipad last week. I will try and get her when she is in the mood and get a video.. She is so funny rolls all over it and tries to peek under it to see where the mouse is.. Here is the link for the App if you want to try it for you cat  paint-for-cats
Here is Mittens all wrapped up in her blanket its been cold the last few days.

Julia from  WOYWW gets us all together every Wednesday to have a look at desks from all over the world.. Grab a cuppa, I have mine here, and take a browse.. Thanks for taking the time to comment and enjoy the blog hopping around all the desks.

Have a great day
Sandy :)

  1. Your water colour painting looks great! So vibrant! Mittens is just adorable, but sssh - I mustn't let my kitty, Daisy hear me cooing over another kitty! Wonder if she'd enjoy painting for cats? Julie Ann xx #41

  2. Wow. Those paints are wonderfully pigmented aren't they. Lovely use of colour. Love a bit of colour and cheer! When you're in the mood to browse, have a look at Tracy Fletcher King's blog too, she's an on and off WOYWWer who watercolours. And how!

  3. Lovely journal pages, those colours are beautifully intense. MMx #65

  4. I love playing with watercolours and it is so important to have a good brush that holds the wash. Your kitty is stunning and I think I will have to have a little peek at that app. Have a lovely week.

    Happy WOYWW!

  7. Bright vivid colors for your pretty watercolor flowers!

Mittens looks snug and warm in her soft blanket!

    Wishing you a wonderful WOYWW!

  8. They are great paints, I thought you had used markers till I started to read. I know some of my contacts in the USA use 'Crayola' watercolours that they like for the brightness, they are not expensive and available on Amazon.

  9. Your art is like sunshine - bright flowers that shine out of the page - I always thought watercolours were pale now know differently - I love it! Would you recommend a particular brush - there seems so many to choose from and I think having the right tools so to speak helps. Thank you for sharing

  10. What beautiful vibrant artwork, Sandy, and what a lovely box of colours. They make your desk positively radiate colour this week! You will have great fun with these.

Mittens is so cute all wrapped up like that! Our 2 kitties have been flopping about outside in the sunshine and feeling too hot to do anything much - not that they do anything much anyway, being too lazy to do anything more than eat and sleep and have cuddles!! I look forward to more kitty stuff from you in future weeks - always puts a smile on my face!

Thanks for your lovely comments. A friend directed me to a site showing a thing where you wear a Velcro suit and jump up and down on a trampoline and then stick yourself to the wall above - "Fly on the Wall" it's called - and she said I should have one of those!! My hubby would definitely have to peel me off the wall! The bungee cord is a very good idea, though. What fun!! My room is so lovely, isn't it, and I can't wait for the electrician to finish in there so I can get my stuff in.

    Happy WOYWW,

  14. Lovely vibrant painting the paints look gorgeous too! I think good brushes are essential for painting you need that bit of 'spring' that a good quality brush has. Your cat looks so cute in the blanket ! Toni #86

  19. Lovely painting you are getting done, with such vibrant alive colors! And Mittens looks very cozy in her warm blanky...we are so far from needing blankies here! Months at least! 20. Hi Sandy! You have really inspired me today with your beautiful watercolor pages! I have really been wanting to sit down and do some watercolor in my art journal. Thank you for your sweet visit. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #11

  21. Hi how you going there lovely lady? Was in town over night and just waiting for a store to open before heading back to Melbourne. Lovely journal pages, yes you really are hooked and Tracy is such a great influence too. Now that is one really cute kitty and I don't blame her being all wrapped up, it was really cold here last night. We will have to catch up soon we have the next 3 fox broadcasts in town so I will be back before you know it. Just can't this weekend as I have to be at ETIHAD tonight.

Happy crafting and belated WOYWW wishes
