I have been using more of my scrap wood pieces and have made another Mixed Media wall hanging or alternatively this one could be called an assemblage art doll. I made this using Helmar glues, scrap wood and some of my hand rolled paper beads for the arms and legs. I am enjoying reusing wood that was only going into my wood fire. A friends son makes wooden stair cases and gave us bags of off cuts, that is only waste for them. So he gave them to us for our wood fire. Makes me smile to think what people would think of what is being made from the off cuts from their staircases.
First I sanded my wood pieces then painted them with DecoArt Gesso then a layer of Deep Burgundy acrylic paint. The music paper was applied using Helmar Decoupage and Craft Paste. I also like to type up a quote on my typewriter and add it to the sides just to add a bit of interest.
Using some Helmar Tacky Craft Glue I made some paper beads to use for my arms and legs.
I am going to link this up at Paint Party Friday Its the 6th birthday party celebrations how exciting is that. So come on over and join in the fun. Hope to see you linking up over there. I am off to check out what everyone else has been up to this week.
Have a great day,
Vicki-Ann :)
