Challenges 4 Everybody #36

This week at Challenges 4 Everybody
Our sponsor is the wonderful
So come on and join in the fun with our Anything goes challenge and you could win 3 images of your choice.

This week I sewed some little quick tree decorations for a small Christmas tree that I have. I found a great tutorial at Life after laundry simple instructions to follow. I had seen these done in paper folding but this is the first time I had seen it done in fabric.. So thought it would be a bit more durable to make out of fabric.. I am going to make some larger ones as well for my big tree, as they turned out quite well and where very simple to make.. Try to get quite small patterns on the fabric as big patterns get a bit lost..

Have a great Christmas stay safe and
have a Wonderful New Year.

Sandee said try this...

I was talking to Sandee from Sunday's with Sandee and she asked if I had tried her last Sunday Tutorial  yet?  Everything else had been put on hold as the temperature was just too hot to do much else.. So sat inside in the Air conditioning and played with lots of colour and sparkle.. I had lots of fun and tried my hand at dangles too as Sandee had.  I had been looking at these amazing lines and wanting to have a go, so this all turned out perfect timing for me. Gee it was hard to stop once I started, loved doing those..  So texture paste, crackle paste and lots of glitter and Dylusions sprays and I was done.. The flower turned out really great too with the orange and the tiny dots of texture paste. I would have tried mixing colours as well but I did not have any of the white spray, oh well on my list of things to get next year.

The owl is from my Typo stencils, she is so bright and colourful I love her blue eyes.. It was hard to get a photo there was so much sparkle happening.
Close up of the owl really shows the crackle on the wings and brow and bit on the tummy.   Think my quote was just the right one for this..
Don't be afraid to sparkle a little brighter.
I even wrote it on here in my handwriting, I am getting better at liking my own handwriting, hey its all practice.

Merry Christmas and Happy New year
Sandy :)

WOYWW #237

Well I had the big move on the weekend after moving my daughter and all her of her stuff that had taken up 2 bedrooms in the house.. I claimed her room for my craft room and have settled in nicely. Still feels weird to be in there but I will get used to it.. I still have a big window looks out to the front of the house will show you that way another week.. Thought you would like the long view of my desk this week.  My old typewriter is sitting there been getting a bit of use lately. Who knew after it sitting in my cupboard for 35 years unused that I would find a use for it now..  I was lucky with my storage on the other side picked up that desk for $10 at the op shop, bargain and fits my trolley under there beautifully. I finally have a space just for my bigshot and all its bits..  I am sure I will move things around yet. My sewing machine still has to get moved in here and want to have my photo albums in here. I need another sort of shelf for them looks like another trip to Ikea is in my future. I wanted to see what fitted after getting my big table in here and get a feel for the space before I brought any more storage.

One day last week when we where supposed to move some furniture and it teamed down rain I ended up having a bit of time and I made these.. One each for each one of my children and one for me.. More info on these Here.

Julia from  WOYWW gets us all together every Wednesday to have a look at desks from all over the world.. Grab a cuppa, I have mine here, and take a browse.. Thanks for taking the time to comment and enjoy the blog hopping around all the desks.

Christmas tree canvases...

I found this lovely youtube tutorial from Einat Kessler for a Christmas tree canvas, find it  Here Such a wonderful explanation step by step process I thought Hmm I think I can do that.  I had been wanting to make something special for both my children this year as they are both having there first Christmas away from home.. So I wanted to make them something hand made to have up for Christmas..

Such a fun little canvas to make. I made this with Kaisercraft Christmas papers and rubons.. I used Christmas music paper for the background.  My old handy portable typewriter for the words.. Sissix diecuts and my bigshot for the word Joy. I hand cut the stars out of cardboard and embossed them with silver then popped them up with dimensional tape.  I also used buttons for ornaments on my tree as I love the look of buttons on mixed media projects. It is glittered around the edges but hard to see in my photos..
Just for fun I am going to link this up at Creative every day

So as this is getting in the spirit of Christmas think I will say...

Have a Merry Christmas

These are pages that are right back in the front of my book. I had just the background done with a baby wipe and the big flowers. Then I just left it as I got stuck as what to do next.. This weekend I looked back at it and I added the fairy from Nice crane designs and the dragonflies and was doodling and added the little flowers hanging from the top and scattered on the pages.
The words say starting from the left side down the flower stems.
Words to live by, dream, live love laugh, fun, play, challenge, explore, daydream, create, breathe, dare, wish, smile, bloom, Family, friends.

Have a great day

WOYWW #235

On my desk this week there is my new, think its for toast but I am going to dry cards or stack them in it when they are finished, its a quite heavy ceramic. Just thought it would be good for keeping them up off my desk. Picked it up at the op shop, bargain.. I still have a few more Christmas cards to make yet but I have just been playing with watercolours the last few days.  I wanted a background to do some pen work on it, some doodling practice.  Its right out there hey. I drew this the other night no flowers in sight just a random flow of lines and colours.  I just find it relaxing and with everything going on its what I need at the moment.. I have been helping children move houses everyone is moving somewhere else within 2 weeks so moving to and fro and lots of cleaning.. With that, I will get a whole room to move into next weekend. So one more week you will see my desk here and then it will be all different..
This is a photo of my new cat Misty. She is making herself all at home and has settled in really well. She was watching with interest while we put up the Christmas tree.

Misty says hi to Eliza and Yoda.
