WOYWW #177

Hi everyone, well I have a question for all of you crafty people this week.. I was given this floral ball of flowers.  It was from a wedding that I went to a couple of weeks ago.  These where on the tables as decorations and this was given to me because they said I was crafty.  Well I feel like I have to do something with it and I haven't a clue..  They are big when they are separated from the ball..  Its not my kind of thing to just have out as a decoration.  Hmm maybe I could punch them into smaller flowers...
So here is my desk...

So as you can see they are quite big, I left my little peg magnet owls next to them so you can get an idea of the size of them.  They all pull out into these individual flowers with 4 petals and layers, with a little plastic holder. Sorry about it being around the wrong way but you get the idea..
So all, I am hoping you can help me with my dilemma as I am not one to keep things I am not going to use.
So now I am off to Julia's Stamping ground to have a peek at some desks to get some inspiration.. Every week I find several things that make me go WOW, I so look forward to my desk hopping Wednesday..

Best wishes to all of you that are dealing with the aftermath of the Horrible weather  that has been devastating the USA. Thinking of you all, stay safe..

Have a great day
Sandy :)

Challenges 4 Everybody #6 DT

Hi all, well another 2 weeks has gone by so fast and its time for a new challenge at Challenges 4 Everybody.
I have seen a few of these magnet pegs around in blog land.  Here is a link to one of the ones I have seen at the wonderful blog Stamp it with Jen so check it out .   I  had put this on my list of things I wanted to make, this is no way my idea,  but I just love it...  I made them with the little owls I love to make from Stampin'up.  Thought they would be a cute little present for a few of my friends.  Handy little holders for the fridge to hold notes or photos..
So here are the fridge magnet owls....

Caption reads..
Catching him was easy getting him through the cat door..
Now THAT'S another story.
Couldn't resist putting this one on the owl peg magnet to show you.

I am also going to enter this is Make it Monday anything goes

Have a great day

WOYWW #177

Hi all, it was my birthday last Saturday and what I have on my desk this week is a lovely present that I got from my friend Helen.  Its a diagonal plate for my simply scored board.  Some lovely nautical designer papers and a very pretty flower stamp set.  The card on my desk is the one that she made for me.   My family all put in and bought me a new outdoor setting, when we spend so much time in the garden this was fantastic to get, plus I got a  a big block of chocolate..  I felt very spoiled...
So here is my desk......

So hope to get some time to play with my new goodies in the next few days..
I am off to have a peek at some desks at Julia's Stamping ground.  Have you joined in yet or had a peek? It's great fun but warn you it is highly addictive... Have a cuppa ready, you will be a while...
Have a great day

WOYWW #176

Hi all, I have made 2 cards so back in the swing of it all again now that everything is planted in the vegie garden and all coming up so well now that the bugs are under control..
So here is my desk...

The card below is what I made with the papers I had on my desk last week.

The progress of the vegies, snow peas, mignonette lettuce and onions and the great beer bug catcher.

Very exciting news though the Tawney Frogmouth owls are nesting in the tree in our backyard.  I will try to get a better photo when they have the babies they are so cute when they are little and trying to fly.  They where there last year, they had 2 babies so will be looking forward to the babies hatching.  It is so lovely to have them in the tree though its so very special.  You will have to look hard to see him, he is at the top of the photo in the middle. She was sitting on the nest so couldn't really see her very well, she is not in the photo she is on the other side of the tree.

So off you go and have a peek and see what all this talk about desks is all about. Pop in over to Julia's  Stamping Ground and join in the fun..
Have a great day

Retro Sketches #32

Well I had a hunt around on my favourite sketch blogs and I found the cutest sketch that was just perfect for the papers that I had out to use..  The sketch is from Retro sketches such a fun sketch done by Arielle. You can see her original card  Here..  I really like the rounded corners and its always fun to use the Aviary bird cage stamp from Stampin'up.  Words and butterfly from the stamp set, So happy for you.
So here is my card...

Was fun to do a card, not many getting done as it is a busy time in the garden..
Have a great day

Whats on your Workdesk? Wednesday #176

Hi all and welcome to my desk for this week..  Its Wednesday again and you all know what that means its time to pop into Julias Stamping ground to have a peek at what's going on with desks all around the globe.  I have an idea for a card so have some paper and stamps out but that's as far as I have got.
So here is my desk....

Update on the garden..
Well the tomato's are planted finally there part of the vegie plot was finished.. We did a big reno on the vegie garden this year and have raised the sides and devided what was two big beds into 6 beds with raised sides..  When you start things and think to yourself oh I will just devide all that up into 6 beds, well what a job it has turned out to be, hence the no cards for the last few weeks..  But as you can see below it has all been worth it and all the beds are in place and now just have to put down some crushed rock for paths....

Snow peas are up now the slugs are under control... The beer trap worked really well going to get some more of them.. There is also some lettuce and onion in this bed that you can just see in the background..  Plus the daisy bush helps with the bees and pollination.

So that's it for another week, will hope to get some cards done for some challenges in the next few days.  Miss doing the sketches might have to check some out..

I would also like to welcome a new follower Neet.  Hope you enjoy popping in from time to time to see what is going on..
Have a great day
Sandy :)

What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday

Well another Wednesday is here again and we all know what that means its time to check out Julia's  Stamping Ground for WOYWW for the peek at desks all over the world.
Well here is my desk this week, I made a wedding card with an adorable wedding dress image from Digi Darla.  (more info on the card here)
So here is my desk...

I got in such a mess that look at my poor owl he even got stuff on top of him lol...

I was glad the card kind of turned out the way I had pictured it....

Spring is here in my garden anyway, I had to take a picture of the glorious wisteria that is climbing along the side of  my garden shed....

Keeping you up to date with the beetroot as you all said I had to have pics and not just tell you about my garden... I had been having trouble with something eating them so went and got some pet and earthworm friendly slug killer.  I also bought a slug trap that you half fill with beer and they climb in and have a party...  Nearly ready to plant the tomato's, also have some jalapeno hot  peppers that my Hubby and son will love, will make some super hot tomato sauce for them...

I had a lovely surprise when I found that I had been a top 5 pick at Southern girls challenge for my Digi Darla birds in a tree card. (click here for original post). Such lovely comments I have had on my cards, I am so honoured to be chosen for the top 5.

I am also so pleased to welcome 2 new followers today Lorraine and Pauline. So glad that you have decided to follow and hope you enjoy popping in from time to time..
Well that's it from me today.
Have a great day
Sandy :)
