Merry Monday Challenge #26

Another xmas card to the collection.  I am on a count down so this is the 3rd in my 25 cards I need for Christmas so 22 to go.  I am following the Merry Monday Challenge its specifically for Christmas cards so great motivation to get my cards done early.  The paper I am using today is from Kaszazz.  I have followed the sketch but flipped it sideways, wanted to use this tree sentiment, its one of my favourites.  Put a little sparkle on the baubles, star and the pot. I hand cut the stocking, added a little false stitching as the white blended in to much. The red of the stocking has a texture but you cant really see  it here.
So here is my card......

Have a great day

Man card

My son asked for a card for his mate for his birthday, so he can put some money in it.   He was looking through all my cards and said "Mum, you have not got one man card in your stash of cards, men are 50% of the population you know." ( I think I will have to remedy that inequity in my stash).  He was so fussy with his choices too, no ribbon, had to be black, no patterns. I asked if I could add some brads, had to show him.  "Yea they look ok, kind of look like nails."

So here is the man card as requested for his friend...

I embossed the black background with the Sizzix yummy stripe texture plate. Paper is Kaisercraft, the cog is a punch from Stampin'up.  Roughed up the edges and inked with Tim Holtz old paper ink.  Inked with black around the edges of the Happy Birthday.
I am going to enter this card into the following challenges

Bright and Sunny

It is so cold and miserable outside today, so thought I would do a bright cheerful card. Think this card fits the bill with the lovely papers from Kaisercraft.  The great sketch is from  Mae at Just Add Ink .  I used the Splitcoast stampers tutorial for the Butterfly. It is so clever how you can fold it up to put in an envelope.  I did this on a flower as well today on a previous post here.  I love that little birdcage from the stampin'up set happy moments.  It stamps up so well, I think it looks quite cute in pink.
So here is my card......

WOYWW #160

So Wednesday rolls around again and its time to log in to Julia's stamping ground to have a peek at blogs around the world.   There is a card I have just finished and posted and a printed out tutorial of a stationary box that I am still working on.
So here is my desk this week...
This is my handy little trolley on wheels that rolls under my desk when I'm not using it.

I have been doing up my craft chairs, painted and recovered.  (Its the one on the left that I have done up).  Thought it was time to do them up and make them a bit more matching with what other furniture we have in the house.

I also received some more lovely mail today from the ATC swap we had for julia's 3rd anniversary.  This wonderful ATC is from the lovely JoZarty, isn't it just the happiest little ATC so bright and cheerful.  Thanks so much.

Retro Sketches

The sketch at Retro Sketches this week is so cute.   The paper is from Kaisercraft, they are such pretty colors really bright.  Thought they where a good fit for this sketch.   I then saw this great tutorial LINK at splitcoast stampers.  Isn't that a clever flower how it pops out.  I think its great that you can still fold it flat, so that it can go in a envelope.

So here is my card....

Have a great day

Merry Monday Challenge #25

I am really liking the inspirational sketches from the Always playing with paper blog.  The design team came up with some brilliant examples.   I used the Kaisercraft 6x6 belle collection paper pack.  I really like the colors in that pack they all blend so well together.   The Joy, Hope, Love words are so pretty they just sparkle look very xmas.  I am aiming for 25 cards for xmas so 2 down 23 to go.
So here is my card.....

It is my pleasure today to welcome to my blog, 3 new followers Glenda Brooks, Mindy Adams and Princess Judy.  I'm so happy that you have joined my little blog of cards.

Retro Sketches #16

Today I'm doing the  Retro sketches challenge. This was a real challenge to me so many elements on there.  So I stuck to Black and white with a bit of a stripy grey paper, all paper and card stock was Kazsazz.  I  was happy with the little stampin'up bird cage, I hadn't used that one before and it stamps up lovely.
So here is my card....

Just Add Ink #122

This week at Just Add Ink we are all casing Delys Cram   What a choice it was wonderful to look right back at all the cards and scrapbook pages that Delys has on her blog.
Here is the card that I chose to case  Link to Delys  on her lovely blog.

I don't have the top note die so I substituted the framelets label die.  I think it looks a bit chubby, the poor label die.  I have to put fussy cut flowers on hold at the moment, finger still has a blister from the hot glue gun shabby rose disaster.
So here is my card cased from Delys....

Little bit of shabby

Today I'm doing another first for me a shabby card.  Well my attempt at shabby.  Have a huge blister on my finger from trying to make a hot glue gun shabby rose. Will have to have another attempt at them another day.
I so love the Kaisercraft paper pack I bought recently, the papers are just perfect for this type of card.  I even did some paper piercing with some hand stitched zigzag stitching.  I was going to use my sewing machine but then read that its not good for it with the paper bits.  I think I did ok with the hand stitching though.  I did a lot of distressing and some blending on the edges with the Tim Holtz distress Ink Old paper.
I would like to enter in this weeks I spy sketches challenge and the great photo inspiration from The shabby tea room there theme this week is shabby beautiful.
So after I stopped jumping up and down and running water on my finger, this is what I came up with.

I am delighted to introduce 2 new followers Spyder and Elizabeth welcome to my little blog of cards.  I hope I can inspire you to try a new technique or join in on one of the challenges I do.
Have a great day

Well I have had some wonderful mail in the last few days I received 2 lovely ATC's

This week on my workdesk is a jumble of things.  Sewing a button on the coffee cozy that is now posted off in the mail.  Xmas card yes a Xmas card that I was having trouble with the darn bow on it..  The hobby horse card is for my sons friend who's wife just had baby no 4 this morning.  I made this card in a class earlier in the year so will be perfect once I add some welcome baby wording.. so cute..

I had a bit of a find for storing some of my bits and bobs of crafting. Its a draw organiser but perfect for all those inks and glue that I don't want to spill on anything.  Don't you just love finding that perfect little thing for storage.  Think everyone should have received my ATC now, that is my little effort on the right the owl.. Wording at the bottom says "your'e a hoot".
Here they all are together before getting mailed off.

I would also like to welcome Marie, Gloria, and Purplecinn as new followers to my blog.  I am so honoured that  41 people now follow my little blog of cards.  Thank you to all of you that take the time to look, comment on or follow my blog.

I am going to try to do the Merry Monday challenge for the rest of the year set myself a bit of a challenge as think I need about 25..   So this is the first of 25 so 24 to go.......
So this is my card.....
